About Us

The Play-based Family Daycare (PBFD) focuses on ensuring that children learn effectively by providing an environment that allows all children, including those with special needs, to learn through discovery and play. The basis of my family daycare is the belief that children learn best through their interaction with real materials, children, and adults in a safe and supportive environment.

PBFD promotes positive self-esteem by providing a positive and nurturing learning environment that is geared to the level and interests of the children.

About me

My name is Sneha Malhotra and I am the owner of PBFD. I graduated from Delhi University (DU), completed a diploma in Primary Teacher Training (PTT), and also hold Bachelor’s in Education (B.Ed.) from MDU University. I worked as an Elementary school teacher in Delhi, India for 5 years. After moving to US with my husband, I completed Early childhood Education (ECE) with practicum from Mission College, Santa Clara, CA. During the practicum, I learned more about child development through observations and lab experiences. For the past 6 years, I gained experience as an Educator, while working in a home-based daycare and reputed private daycare in Bay Area.

Our Mission and Philosophy

Our mission is to provide a safe, healthy, child-centered learning environment based on the developmental needs of children. Our philosophy is to focus on all development skills i.e. emotional, social, cognitive, and physical needs of every child as an individual.  We also encourage families to take an active role in their children’s learning and development.
